Child safety standards
Poshumim is a service for chatting in text and voice channels. We do not tolerate child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) in any form. These standards apply to every Poshumim app — in the browser, on desktop, on Android and on iPhone — and add to the terms of use.
1. What is prohibited
Any material or conduct involving the sexual abuse or exploitation of minors is prohibited, including:
- images, videos, text and any other sexual material involving minors (CSAM), including generated or edited material;
- grooming — building contact with a minor in order to sexually exploit them;
- sexualisation of minors, including in descriptions, comments and nicknames;
- sextortion and persuading minors to send intimate material;
- trafficking of children and any help with their exploitation;
- sharing links to such material, searching for it or trading it.
2. How to report it in the app
You can report a problem without leaving Poshumim: open the message menu (long-press on a phone, or “More” on a computer), choose “Report message” and the reason “Child safety”. Reports are anonymous — the author is not told who reported them. When this reason is chosen, the app also shows where to report to law enforcement.
If the issue is not about a particular message, write to us at difficultphil@gmail.com.
3. What we do
- We handle these reports first.
- We remove material that breaks these standards and ban the accounts that post or share it.
- We preserve the information needed for an investigation and pass it to law enforcement as the law requires.
- We respond to law enforcement requests about such violations.
4. Where else to report
If a child is in danger right now, call your local emergency number (112 in Russia and Europe).
You can report child sexual abuse material directly:
- in Russia — to the Safe Internet League hotline;
- from any country — to the CyberTipline of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC);
- to your country’s national hotline — listed on the INHOPE website.
